1524abc947 Switch to ClutterActors resource-scale-changed signal
Instead of using the "notify::resource-scale" signal and StWidgets
"resource-scale-changed" signal, use the new "resource-scale-changed"
signal of ClutterActor, which replaces its "resource-scale" property.

Since we'd now have two "resource-scale-changed" signals, one on
ClutterActor and one on StWidget, remove the StWidget one in favour of
the new one.

ae338af1e8 st-label: Keep labels fully pre-rendered on the GPU
The performance of the icon grid was being hindered by a large number
of primitives (a few hundred) being copied from the CPU to the GPU on
each frame. This was first noticed in mutter#971 but we failed to
investigate all the issues at the time.

You can also see the high number using `COGL_DEBUG=batching` or
`COGL_DEBUG=disable-texturing`. So now it's obvious that high number is
every letter of every label being uploaded as a separate quad. Let's not
do that and instead treat the whole label as a single quad/texture.

Measured performance on an i7-7700 at UHD 3840x2160:

Journal entries per frame on the icon grid:
 * Before: 288 (18 KB copied from CPU to GPU)
 * After: 73 ( 4 KB copied from CPU to GPU)

Spring animation:
 * Before: 20-30 FPS, avg 22/peak 45 milliseconds per frame
 * After: 30-40 FPS, avg 14/peak 28 milliseconds per frame

Scrolling the icon grid:
 * Before: 15 FPS, 50 milliseconds per frame
 * After: 30 FPS, 28 milliseconds per frame

632a643994 Use paint and pick context to get framebuffer
Mutter and Clutter was changed to pass around the current target
framebuffer via the paint context instead of via the deprecated Cogl
framebuffer stack.

The framebuffer stack has also been removed from Cogl so change to use
the one in the paint context instead.

988a0e7314 Adapt to painting and picking API change
While still leaving them unused, pass around ClutterPaintContext and
ClutterPickContext when painting and picking.

The reason for splitting this change up in two is to make it possible to
bisect easier in between the API change and the change to using the
framebuffer passed around with the temporary contexts.

8f3554ff3e st: Use g_object_notify_by_pspec()
`g_object_notify()` actually takes a global lock to look up the property
by its name, which means there is a performance hit (albeit tiny) every
time this function is called. For this reason, always try to use
`g_object_notify_by_pspec()` instead.

28ab1f4af4 Ensure G_PARAM_STATIC_STRINGS for all properties
In `st`, we can do this by using `ST_PARAM_*`. In the other code files,
just use `G_PARAM_STATIC_STRINGS` directly.

This is just a minor convenience to prevent a few unnecessary string
copies.

st-private: Receive a CoglFramebuffer
Same case of the previous patch; _st_paint_shadow_with_opacity()
uses cogl_get_draw_framebuffer(), and this patch makes it receive
a CoglFramebuffer as a parameter instead.

The cautious reader might notice that this commit apparently goes
against the long-term goal, for it introduces more instances of
cogl_get_draw_framebuffer(). This is not wrong, but these introduced
ones will be removed later on, when ClutterActor.paint() receives
a CoglFramebuffer as a parameter instead.

44894262f4 st-label: Unset clutter text instance on disposal
The instance is owned by the actor (being its child), and thus when the
disposal happens for the parent the text is disposed too, thus it's just
safer to nullify its reference so that we won't try to access to invalid
objects later, and this might be the case since the JS objects could be kept
around until they aren't finalized.

ad2cb22785 Remove dangerous explicit destroy
There's no need to explicitly destroy the ClutterText actor inside the
label; doing so is actually harmful, as it will break the normal
reference cycle between container and children.
As StLabel doesn't hold any extra reference to the ClutterText actor and
just uses clutter_actor_add_actor() to add it to itself, let the normal
container dispose cycle run to dispose of the reference.

d6fe008b2c st-shadow: Fix offset shadow offscreen rendering
The shadows are currently rendered by painting the actor we want to
apply shadow on, in an offscreen buffer. The problem is that when this
actor has an allocation padding (ie allocation that isn't at 0x0
relatively to its parent), this padding is added within the offscreen
buffer and as a result the shadow rendering is truncated because the
offscreen buffer size is the size of the allocation box, not the
allocation box + padding.

This patch reposition the actor at 0x0 with rendering it by changing
the initial transformation matrix when rendering the actor offscreen.

ea19790828 st-widget: Implement a proper allocate
Since an StWidget now has children, it needs to allocate those children
properly. Defer to the currently installed layout manager, like Clutter
does.

Now that we have something that allocates children in St, to prevent
double allocations, we use clutter_actor_set_allocation rather than
chaining up to StWidget::allocate.

64b2c5d1b4 st-widget: Add a proper paint, add st_widget_paint_background
Since we want to paint children by default in StWidget, we need to
provide a way for custom subclasses to paint their CSS backgrounds
without painting children... introducing st_widget_paint_background.

Additionally, remove any custom paint/pick handlers added by subclasses
of StWidget that just painted their children. This will cause double
painting if left alone.

This also removes the hacky things that some subclasses of StBin did
to prevent their one child to be painted by StBin.

5bc042ba6f Remove override of map/unmap
Clutter, since version 1.8, does The Right Thing™ inside the default
implementation of ClutterActor::map and ClutterActor::unmap, even for
non-container actors: it will iterate over the list of children and
map, or unmap, each one of them, respectively.

This means that the requirement to override map and unmap for composite
actors to map and unmap the internal children has been dropped.

If a caller sets an StLabel's text to what it already is (as, eg, the

450291b856 Adding StLabel a11y support
Right now is just redefine atk_object_get_name.

If someone wonders why not implement AtkText interface, or expose the
internal ClutterText, here a extract from AtkText doc:

"AtkText should be implemented by AtkObjects on behalf of widgets that
have text content which is either attributed or otherwise
non-trivial. AtkObjects whose text content is simple, unattributed,
and very brief may expose that content via atk_object_get_name
instead;"

StLabel is attributed, but is still simple and brief. In the same way
the atk_object_get_name redefinition is required, so this patch is the
first step. We can implement AtkText in the future.

ab0460ad59 Use clutter_actor_destroy in dispose, add _dispose where needed
ClutterGroup calls _destroy, but most of St was just calling _unparent.
This caused problems because the DESTROY signal was not emitted
for child elements after destroying a toplevel. Also, in a GC'd
binding it would cause unpredictable lifetime of children.

Some St widgets simply didn't have _dispose at all; implement it.

Note because of the usage of the background_image in StButton,
we can't cleanly destroy it inside the StWidget.

b77b205d37 Add clutter-text properties to StEntry and StLabel
Add clutter-text properties to allow getting access to the underlying

properties of StEntry are reordered into alphabetical order.

076e902b2c Centralize computations of border and padding into StThemeNode
Rather than repeating the computation of borders in many different
widget subclasses, add helper functions:

 st_theme_node_adjust_for_height()
 st_theme_node_adjust_preferred_width()
 st_theme_node_adjust_for_width()
 st_theme_node_adjust_preferred_height()
 st_theme_node_get_content_box()

That are used in get_preferred_width()/get_preferred_height() and
allocate() methods to consistently apply the necessary adjustments.
This allows removing the StPadding type.

Queueing a relayout when the borders/padding change is moved from
st_widget_real_style_changed() to the invoking code to allow access
to the old StThemeNode for comparison. (Should this be added as
a parameter to the signal?)

Borders are included in the geometry adjustments, but borders
are not yet drawn.

a9fd350396 Port our imported parts of Mx to ShellTheme
ShellTheme replaces both StStyle and ccss_stylesheet_t.

The interface StStylable is replaced by usage of ShellThemeNode.
A concrete node class allows some significant optimizations of property
inheritance that would have been much more difficult to achieve with
the highly abstract pair of StStylable and ccss_node_t.

Some operations that were previously on StStylable (like the
::style-changed signal) are directly on NtkWidget.

Custom properties are no longer registered as param-specs; instead you
call directly into shell theme node to look up a length or color:

shell_theme_node_get_length (theme_node, "border-spacing", FALSE, &spacing);

The dependency on libccss is dropped, while preserving all existing
functionality and adding proper parsing and inheritance of font properties
and proper inheritance for the 'color' property.

Some more javascript tests for CSS functionality are added; workarounds for
a CSS bug where *.some-class was needed instead of .some-class are removed.
