The distribute_natural_allocation() function was copied over from Gtk to
Clutter 11 years ago with commit e636a0bbce.
Gtk only supports integers sizes in its layout machinery, while Clutter
does everything using floats.
Since this function sets the minimum_size (the size we allocate the
children in the end) to an integer, this means we're implicitly
typecasting floats to integers here, effectively floor()'ing all sizes
that we allocate the box children.
A bug this caused in gnome-shell was that a scrollView (like the one in
the endSessionDialog) was showing scrollbars even though the content
perfectly fit inside the view: Say the content and its scrollView parent
request a size of 63.9 px, but get allocated a size of 63 px by a box
layout. Now the scrollView notices that its allocated size is smaller
than the requested size and thus shows a scrollbar.
So fix that and use floats in distribute_natural_allocation() instead of
integers, as we do everywhere else in the layout machinery.

A property for reversing the visible order of children is a bit odd.
It has also been unused by actual gnome-shell code since 2010, and the
somewhat related pack_start()/pack_end() API in GtkBox(Layout) is gone
in GTK4.
With that in mind, turn the property into a no-op and deprecate it,
so that it can be dropped next cycle.

ClutterBoxLayout calculates the preferred size of the opposite
orientation (so for example the height if the orientation is horizontal)
by getting the preferred size of the real orientation first, and then
the preferred size of the opposite orientation, using the other size as
for_width/height when doing the request.
Right now, for non-homogeneous layouts this for_width/height does not
adjust for the spacing set on the box layout. This leads to children
being passed a slightly larger for_width/height, which in case of
ClutterText might cause the line to not wrap when it actually should.
This in turn means we can end up with an incorrect preferred size for
the opposite orientation, leading to a wrong allocation.
So fix that and adjust for the spacing just as we do for homogeneous
layouts by subtracting the total spacing from the available size that is
distributed between children.
This fixes the wrong height of the checkbox label reported in
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/2574.

ClutterBoxLayout's layout policy of using the generic ClutterActor
align/expand properties for children that are expanded and a custom
meta otherwise is confusing, in particular as the x-fill/y-fill
defaults don't match the default CLUTTER_ACTOR_ALIGN_FILL align.
StBoxLayout's own custom child meta (which was deprecated last
cycle) is probably the only consumer. And luckily, the St meta
uses different x-fill/y-fill default that match the ClutterActor
defaults, so removing it will not affect code that doesn't use
the deprecated properties themselves.

This stuff has been deprecated for a very long time, and given that
ClutterBoxLayout is most commonly used via StBoxLayout, the impact of
removing it should be low. It will however open the door to further
cleanups.

In the past, it was a odd mix of possible different types, all coalesced
into an unsigned integer. Now, hovewer, it's always a
ClutterAnimationType, so lets change the name of getter, setter and
property to what it really is.

`distribute_natural_allocation` expects an input >= 0 of type `gint`. In
`get_preferred_size_for_opposite_orientation` it is used with an unchecked
variable `size` of type `gfloat`, which in case it is `Infinity`, gets
passed on in the macro `MAX (0, size)`. `Infinity` becomes `G_MININT`
when implicitly casted to `gint` in `distribute_natural_allocation`,
triggering the assertion `extra_space >= 0`.
The resulting warning in the log is counter intuitive and not very
helpful.
Use `float` in `distribute_natural_allocation` instead of `gint` and
assert on denormal values so we can more easily identify bugs.
Additionally change some types while at it and add a even more
expressive warning referencing the actor at one point.

In cogl use cogl-config.h and in clutter use clutter-build-config.h. We
can't use clutter-config.h in clutter because its already used and
installed.
