2666aabde2 tests: Avoid g_assert() use in unit tests
This is aimed towards allowing g_assert() to be compiled out of
release builds by ensuring they do not affect the testsuite.

e53bdc4416 tests/ref-test: Set output dir via env var
While when running with meson, we want the output to be in meson-logs
for convenience, such a path isn't feasible when running as an installed
test. To address this, make the destination path configurable via an
environment variable.

422ee4515d Compile with -Wfloat-conversion
This means we'll get warnings whenever a floating point value looses
precision, e.g. gets implicitly casted to an integer. It also warns when
implicitly casting double's to float's, which arguably is less of a
problem, but there are no warning for just float/double to int.

This would have caught

2993462700 tests/ref-test: Inhibit direct scanout for ref-tests
When capturing the view we have to make sure the stage is actually
updated. In direct scanout mode the stage is unmodified and we can't
find the content we want to test.

Currently the ref-tests are all running on non-native setups where
direct scanout is impossible but we will change that soon!

c1e6948e42 cogl: Port Bitmap away from CoglObject
We still need to use set_qdata_full as CoglBitmapPixbuf would free
the data itself by unrefing the pixbuf

As Cogl already defines a pixel format enum, it makes sense to move such
endian dependant pixel format there

c4b9431bb2 screen-cast/stream: Pass redraw clip to stage watches instead of paint context
The virtual stream source with CURSOR_MODE_EMBEDDED uses
META_STAGE_WATCH_AFTER_PAINT as the callback for recording its frame. In
this stage of the paint though, there is no ClutterPaintContext anymore
(there only is a paint context during the paint, not afterwards).
The callback (actors_painted()) tries to get the redraw clip from the paint
context, and we end up with a NULL pointer crash.

We actually do still have a redraw clip at this point, so because everyone
uses the paint context to get the redraw clip anyway, just pass the redraw
clip to the stage watches directly.

e9cd2b60a6 tests: Make tests components have ownership chains as well
This means we can eliminate the use of scattered singletons that isn't
added by the tests or the test framework itself.

tests: Don't get backend from old singleton getter

Either use the ownership chain, or the explicit test context instance
pointer.

tests/wayland: Pass context to test client constructor

So that we can get the Wayland compositor directly from the context.

tests: Don't get display from singleton

tests/client: Make test client carry a context pointer

tests/runner: Have test cases carry a context pointer

tests/wayland/test-driver: Get backend from context

d7ce6a47f8 tests: Add reference test framework
This adds a test framework that makes it possible to compare the result
of painting a view against a reference image. Test reference as PNG
images are stored in src/tests/ref-tests/.

Reference images needs to be created for testing to be able to succeed.
Adding a test reference image is done using the
`MUTTER_REF_TEST_UPDATE` environment variable. See meta-ref-test.c for
details.

The image comparison code is largely based on the reference image test
framework in weston; see meta-ref-test.c for details.
