Remove any usage of MetaScreen, as it has been removed from libmutter
in the API version 3. The corresponding functionality has been moved
into three different places: MetaDisplay, MetaX11Display (for X11
specific functionality) and MetaWorkspaceManager.

Instead of always logging frame timestamps for every frame - which
was using >26 bytes of memory per frame, or 5MB per hour of continuous
redrawing - make frame timestamps something that defaults off and is
turned turned on using a new ShellGlobal::frame-timestamps property by
the perf scripts.

This reverts commit e23c2ffecc.
The patch was intended as a cleanup but accidently removed the setting of the
event base, breaking the swap event handling.
With the event base setting removing the other code isn't much of a cleanup so
just revert it.
Having the full geometry of the menu's source button (if any) will
allow us to address several misbehaviors of window menus, so use
that instead of show_menu().

We now allow "appmenu" in the button layout to make synchronizing it
with GTK+'s client-side decorations easier, but as some people tweak
their settings to get in-window app menus even when using the shell,
actually pop up the app menu when the button is activated.

The Mutter plugin manager has now been changed so that it itself will
pass on the events through Clutter so there is no need to do this in
Gnome Shell anymore.

Ever since we stopped reparenting status icon windows to the stage, tray icons
haven't been inferiors and thus we don't have to filter out enter/leave events
for them, as we never show them outside of a modal.

Unfortunately, display configuration can and does fail, due
to unspecified HW constraints, drivers bugs, unsupported exotic
configurations or just bad luck.
So when the user makes a change in the control center, show
a dialog asking him if it looks OK, and revert back after 20 seconds
otherwise.

Instead of directly using symbols from GLX to check for the swap event
notification, the plugin now first verifies that the Cogl renderer is
actually using the GLX winsys and then indirectly fetches the pointers
for the GLX functions using cogl_get_proc_address. That way it will
continue to work if Cogl is using an EGL winsys.
Nothing in the Gnome Shell plugin now directly uses symbols from libGL
so we don't need to link to it. This helps to avoid problems linking
against two GL APIs when cogl is using a non-GL driver such as GLES2.

We are currently using a hack to allow a select set of keybindings
in the overview. Implement the new MetaPlugin keybinding_filter
hook, which provides a cleaner way to achieve the same.

Move some more environment-initializationy stuff from main.js to
environment.js, and be more careful about not importing shell JS
modules until after the environment has been fully patched.
Change gnome-shell-plugin to call Environment.init() before
Main.start(); this means that Environment.init() now runs before any
shell JS modules (besides environment itself) have been imported.
Make run-js-test create a ShellGlobal and use its js_context, so that
the shell_global_set_property_mutable() stuff in Environment.init()
will work correctly in tests as well.

If the user clicks on the title of a trayicon's SummaryItem, forward
that click to the trayicon. Also adjust
gnome_shell_plugin_xevent_filter() so that if the trayicon takes a
grab as a result of this, we don't hide the message tray.

Build gnome-shell as a binary linked against libmutter-wm, instead of
a module to be loaded by libmutter-wm. Move the majority of
initialization-type stuff from gnome_shell_plugin_start() into main().
We still build libgnome-shell as a shared library, so that the linker
doesn't discard all the methods that are never called from C.

See commit f2158218bef0c51 in mutter. Basically, we need
to grab org.freedesktop.Notifications before anything else
in the session gets started.
Note: I intentionally removed the Util.killall bits. I believe that
for notification-daemon at least, if we specify
DBUS_NAME_FLAG_REPLACE_EXISTING, we'll take over the name. Not sure
about notify-osd; if that's still a problem, then what we need to do
is add killing (and possibly respawning) of notify-osd to
"gnome-shell --replace", and not have it embedded randomly in a JS file.

gs-applications was introduced because we initially wanted a limited set
of categories, but this has now changed and we're back to categories
similar to the ones in the applications.menu from gnome-menus.
We can fix gnome-menus to have better categories, if needed.
